A scene from The Rooms

A bit of alt.history speculation.

It was 1948.

Just three years after the war had ended.

And it's hard not to imagine that the outcome of the 1948 referendum might just have been different, if the Responsible Government League/Economic Union outfit hadn't picked a guy with a freakin' Hitler moustache as their public face...


(Interesting, too, the geographical extent of "your country".)

Yeah, but what about the view from the restaurant? On a foggy day you can almost see the harbor!
