Fact-finding mission

Danny Williams-Government temporarily takes leave of the Eighth Floor — whether of Confederation Building or his Sarasota condo, is left vague — to attend an annual confab that this year is being held in beautiful Biloxi, Mississippi.

Perhaps the guy who not so long ago "joked" about joining the United States can ask the Governors of offshore oil and gas producing states some important questions, like:

a) what is the United States federal share of offshore royalties;
b) what is the State share; and
c) how does the State share impact each State's equalization entitlement?

For that matter, he could ask onshore oil and gas producing states much the same question.
