Islands
Greg Locke notes:
Our fellow islands in the North Atlantic are a logical choice — on the surface. There is a lot in common: colonial pasts, economies based on fish, agriculture and natural resources, and a history of poverty.Operative words, of course: "on the surface."
Scratch a little more deeply, and differences start to emerge.... starting with the fact than "we" don't have "fellow islands", by not being an island in the first place.
