Newfoundland and Newfoundland tourism
Trolling about the visually pretty but craptacularly useless Newfoundland and Newfoundland Department of Tourism website, the unwary would-be tourist is directed to this page of right pretty pitchers:
Notice anything? Look a little closer: there are three photos of scenery in the St. John's area, three from Gros Morne, two of the Bonavista Peninsula, and one of L'anse aux Meadows on the Northern Peninsula.
Just so y'all don't miss the point, here's YAMP (yet another pretty map), which little coloured squares representing each of the locales portrayed on the N&N tourism site:
Apparently, despite having almost three quarters of the provincial landmass, a thousand kilometres of its coastline, its largest rivers, highest mountains, longest beach, and — above all — despite being an integral part of the province and all that, there are no iconic images of Labrador which can stand in for the province as a whole, in the same way that Bonavista or Gros Morne can stand in for Labrador.
There are no "places to go" in the Integral Part of the Province.
At least not in the eyes of the Newfoundland and Newfoundland Department of Tourism.
Perhaps they would be open to suggestions. And that lovely page of nine images from across the province, all the way from St. John's to L'anse aux Meadows, provides a perfect opportunity to make those suggestions.
You will notice that there is a little envelope icon next to each of those photographs. Just go to that page, and you can send one of those images as a virtual postcard to some of your friends.
Say, Clyde Jackman, the Newfoundland and Newfoundland Minister of Tourism, whose email address is clydejackman@gov.nl.ca
Or the three government MHAs for Labrador, jimcbaker@gov.nl.ca, jhickey@gov.nl.ca and PattyPottle@gov.nl.ca

Hmmm... I guess the malaysia tourism bureau is as a good a place as any to get info on Labrador these days.
Who the hell is Jim Baker, John Hickey and Patty Pottle? Never heard of them. This is a good idea, I am going to send postcards to my favourite MHA's. Thanks labradore.
