On Irony

Mark Watton from PE, who is a traitor or some such, posts:

The most ironic part about this whole affair is that the province of Quebec is willing to accept a role for American federal regulation in their Hydro industry, but not Canadian federal regulation.
Second-ironickest part, maybe.

The ironickest part is that Mr. ProudStrongDeterminedTheFutureIsOurs simultaneously seeks "to cultivate greater cultural, financial and moral autonomy vis-à-vis Ottawa", and to "go it alone" on Our Dear Lower Churchill... and also a great big honkin' federal subsidy for Our Dear Transmission Line, a great big honkin' federal loan guarantee for the power plants, and great big honkin' federal legislative intervention for a power corridor.

Federal. As in "Ottawa".

According to VODW, "Wiseman says a federal effort would help further their work."

That must be the federal department of provincial self-reliant mastery of shafted autonomy.
