Still more accountability

Nearly five hours ago now, Our Dear Premier took the stage before a business audience in the National Capital — no, the other one — played his suitably Hibernian campaign theme song (presumably any costs associated with the function are being borne by The Party), and announced that Williams Government has acquired an equity stake in the White Rose extension fields.

Hooray!, we are told. Hooray!

Steve Marshall, whoever that is, reports that the ovation was so loud you couldn't hear the details. But they must have been good, what, with that ovation and everything. It came from Danny's mouth. It must be good. A hearty, onion-laden belch would sound good coming from Him.

But for the benefit of those who weren't in attendance, or who couldn't hear over the ovation and the riveting campaign theme song — The Royal We Know What The Royal We Are Fighting For, Do You? — you would think that Liz Matthews or someone would have posted details by now.

Maybe even as many details as hoi polloi have been allowed to know with regards to the Hebron deal-like thingie.

But nope. It's after close of business, Dannystan Daylight Saving Time, and still there's no official word. There's nothing but the ringing in the ears of that lucky business luncheon audience, induced by that riveting and loud campaign jingle, and the afterglow of having basked in His presence.

Perhaps Liz and her understudies have, like Len Simms, resigned their public posts so that they can go check out the donuts at campaign HQ. Perhaps there's no one left at Confederation Building, up on the hill overlooking National Capital, to superintend the writing and publication of the necessary press release. Perhaps details of the White Rose deal-like thingie will end up posted on the PC Party website come Monday.

Perhaps.

But in the meantime, isn't this a highly unusual way for Danny Williams, who runs The Most Accountable Government In The History Of The Universe, to be carrying out public business?
