And by the way, Andy Wells is awesome!

Ryan Cleary takes just enough time out of fluffing the President of Dannystan to give the same treatment, if by way of non sequitur, to the Governor of Andygrad:
Which brings me to the subject of Andy Wells, the mayor of St. John’s, and the breath of fresh air that he is. He may be caustic, and insulting, and brazen, and cranky, and bombastic, and rude, and outspoken, and single-minded, and ignorant. He may have been behind the ridiculous decision to put a grocery store between two graveyards at the head of Quidi Vidi Lake. He may end every telephone conversation with, “Yeah, right.”

He may be all that, but he’s also all that to your face.

There are no backdoors with Wells, only front doors to beat in and skip through.

Some people may have a problem with Wells serving as mayor and head of the Public Utilities Board at the same time, but he said right from the get-go that he would leave it to the people to decide whether he could handle the dual role and double salary.

Wells is nothing if not a brilliant politician. Spend any time in City Hall and you’ll see that Wells stands out — not only for his abrasive ways — but also for being head and tails above the rest of council in terms of political and common sense smarts, a rare and welcome combination indeed.

All’s well that ends Wells. Too bad there aren’t more like him.
And The People — would that be The People of Andygrad who are paying his Mayor's salary, or all The People of Dannystan who are paying the Utilities Board salary — The People get to express their decision... how, exactly, Ryan?
