What island? What province?

Possible Reorganizing in Catholic Church on Island - Feb 7, 2008

The Archbishop of St. John's is exploring the possible reorganization of the Roman Catholic dioceses in the province. Bishop Martin Currie says a restructuring would better serve the people. History, says the Bishop, played a big part in the church's original structure. A bishop was placed in Harbour Grace then went by boat to Conche while the bishop of St. John's looked after the Burin Peninsla and the Bishop of Grand Falls was responsible for Holyrood. Bishop Currie says the discussions and reorganization options are just in the very early stages. There's various possibilities but all are in the talking stages and no decisions have been made yet.
