Trade wars

Another gem o’ turd, from among the many uttered during Our Dear Premier’s bizarroland scrum on Friday:

Principles for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are worth trade wars, and whatever is necessary, in my opinion, to make our point. We’ve given up too often, we’ve pulled back, we’ve suffered as a result of being traded off for mainland interests, and the interests of other provinces in this country, and I think it’s about time we stood our ground.

Can the Premier point to a specific example of this being "traded off"?

Can a reporter, the next time he spouts this particular Dantasy, ask him for one?
