Sycophant of the Month: August 2009
Total number of ProvGov press releases issued in August: 117 (-27 from July).
Total number with the phrase "Williams Government": 6 (-1 from July).
Sycophancy index: 5.1% (+0.2% from July).
The Amazing Disappearing Government continues to Disappear Amazingly. Despite August being a CRA month, DWG issued only 117 press releases, the lowest monthly figure since January 2008. However, the decline in WilliamsGovernmentosity being less severe than the overall decline in press-releasing, the sycophancy index for the month actually increased marginally.
Dianne Whalen got the scoring off to to late start, six days into the month. She was immediately answered by Trevor Taylor. After nearly another week of lull, Trevor Taylor put in another, followed shortly after by Tom Hedderson, who was in turn followed a day later, curiously, by Wade Verge bunting on Wade Verge on Trevor Taylor's behalf.
Kathy Dunderdale ended another strangely-long 10-day drought of WilliamsGovernmentiness on the 24th, and brought an early end to scoring for the month.
With the competition split, Trevor didn't even need the proxy goal scored for him by Wade Verge. For the fifth month in a row, Trevor Taylor is sycophant of the month. Congratulations!

It's not the quantity of releases that counts in goosing season; it's the money-giving quality.
