Kremlinology: Remembrance edition
November 1, 2004: Premier Danny Williams will participate in the Fly the Flag of Remembrance and Re-dedication Ceremony today, Monday, November 1 at 12:00 noon in the lobby of Confederation Building, East Block.
June 30, 2006: Premier Williams will lay a wreath and give remarks on behalf of the province tomorrow (July 1) at the Government of Canada Ceremony of Remembrance at the Newfoundland Memorial at Beaumont Hamel commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme.
October 31, 2006: In Newfoundland and Labrador, Premier Williams and Minister Ottenheimer will attend the Fly the Flag of Remembrance Ceremony at Confederation Building on November 1 and Premier Williams will attend the Wreath Laying Ceremony on Remembrance Day at the Newfoundland War Memorial on Water Street, St. John’s.
June 29, 2007: The Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will take part in a number of events to mark Memorial Day on Sunday, July 1.
July 1, 2007: On this Memorial Day, a day to remember Newfoundland and Labrador soldiers who gave their lives in defence of freedom, the Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, announced plans to symbolically bring home the men who gave their lives in the First World War and have no known gravesites.
June 30, 2008: The Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will take part in events to mark Memorial/Canada Day on Tuesday, July 1.
November 11, 2008: The Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, attended today’s Remembrance Day ceremony at the National War Memorial where he unveiled a bronze plaque honouring all Canadians who serve in the Afghanistan conflict, in particular those who have sacrificed their lives.
June 30, 2009: Tomorrow (Wednesday, July 1) will mark the 93rd anniversary of the Battle of Beaumont Hamel, and the Honourable Clyde Jackman, on behalf of the Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will take part in a special ceremony to honour all Newfoundland and Labrador servicemen who died during the First World War, but particularly those who have no known graves.
November 10, 2009: The Honourable Shawn Skinner, Minister of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development, will represent the Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, at the Remembrance Day Wreath Laying Ceremony taking place at 10:50 a.m. at the National War Memorial in St. John’s on Wednesday, November 11.
April 8, 2010: Each province hosts a Book of Reflection that will be available for signing by those who would like to pay their respects and pay tribute to those who were a part of the First World War. ... The Honourable Dave Denine, Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs, and the Honourable Dianne Whalen, Minister of Municipal Affairs, start the signing at 10:00 a.m.
