That's a good question

Via cartwrightlab, a good question posed in a letter to the Telegram:
Flights or roads: which is priority, Mr. Hickey?

I read with absolute disgust and disbelief a recent news story carried on CBC. I refer to the decision by Air Canada to cancel direct flights from St. John’s to London. That decision is not what disgusts me — the comments of my representative in cabinet, and any supposed advantage that should afford me, is what really perturbs me.

...

To all residents of Labrador, I would say this: we trusted slick-talking Danny and his docile dream team from Labrador last time around. They did not deliver the goods. In fact, they are appallingly silent about our issues...

If our Labrador cabinet minister is more concerned with transatlantic flights to the Avalon than decent roads in Labrador, and our local government member is somehow silenced, what are we to do?

October is coming and, remember, it is obviously not in our best interests to have government members who are muzzled by their dictatorial leader. The alternative is to elect someone who is allowed and not afraid to speak out about Labrador issues.

Peter Pike, Labrador City
"Dictatorial". Ouch.
