Ooga booga!

So, the other week, the Western Star posed a heretical question in its editorial:

But the premier seemed anything but proud of the attempt to settle the nagging issues.

We’re nearing the end of Williams’ second term at the helm of the province, and it could be time for him to re-evaluate his wish to carry on.

It’s a good time to decide if he has the desire to carry on in public life — there are still a couple of years before the next election, the Liberals are having a leadership convention in the fall and there are plenty of Tories who would love a shot at the top job.

If the fun has gone out of the job, Williams already has a solid political legacy in this province, and can move on to some other challenge.

How spooked were the folks in the Eighth Floor bunker by this?

Well, Spontaneous Outrage Organization Committee (SOOC) goes into high gear.

Ms. Matthews' thumbs crank out a dismissive, and factually inexact, critique of the paper's editorial stance.

Tony Ducey from Garnish spontaneously writes spontaneous letters to both the Quebec Daily Newspapers.

And then Sue Bailey of CP — for some reason, not the local CBC nor the aforementioned Quebec Daily Newspapers — gets this exclusive: Williams preps for run at third term in N.L.

How spooked?

Very spooked.

Spook-diddley-ooked.

And oh — by happy coincidence, May is Polling Month.
