This just in!
Thanks perhaps to the high-speed fibre-optic intertubes installed by Danny Williams-Government, it now takes only a week for websites in St. Anthony to load in St. John's:
Former MHA Speaks Out on Air Ambulance
May 10, 2010
The former MHA for the Straits-White Bay North is speaking out for the first time on the air ambulance situation. Trevor Taylor resigned last year, paving the way for the district to return to its Liberal roots by choosing Marshall Dean in last fall's byelection. Then a few months ago the Tory government caused an uproar when it announced that it would move the air ambulance out of St. Anthony in favour of Happy Valley-Goose Bay. The Liberals accuse the Tories of political favouritism. In a letter to the editor in the Northern Pen, Taylor says there were attempts by bureaucrats to move the service out of St. Anthony when he was there. He describes the voters' decision to go red as unfortunate. He says their choice, Marshall Dean, is ill-equipped to make the arguments needed to retain the air ambulance. Taylor also says the district voted for change, and change is what they are getting.
